Yuletide Mice

Wishing you a merry Christmas, I'm sitting home alone and thought it fun to crank out a little poem. Took but a few minutes so there's not much to sell here, but thought I'd send it out with prayers that the Lord keeps us near and dear!

Yuletide Mice
Santa’s away, reindeer too,
Which leaves us mice alone
To chew on toys and make some noise
While the Missus is on her phone.
No cat to bother, no dog to bug
We’ve been put to the test--
With snacks all gone, our goal is now
Nothing more or less than rest.
Scuttle then, we to our holes in
Santa’s lovely hollow,
With bellies full, our pace is slow--
No more than an elder’s waddle.
Another year, come and gone,
We wish you a hearty cheer,
And hope we’re all around, then as now:
Merry Christmas and a blessed New Year!
