It took maybe 20 minutes, flowing from thought to thought to pen "the Milky Way," which is pretty quick, and it may show; but how I got to where I wanted, start to end, is more importantly what I want to share. Maybe not everything one sets out to do makes immediate proper sense from start to finish, but in time, pursuing what is meaningful will reveal truth, beauty and goodness along the way.
Milky Way
Starry heavens, light so bright,
Yet visible only in the night sky.
And that there are so many stars tonight?
It really makes you wonder why.
Why did God create this mess—
In ways so beautiful to behold,
When living in it causes stress?
Uncertainty makes you want to fold.
Believe or not, the truth remains
About things being what they are.
Believing in God takes brains;
Those who do shine brightly like a star.
While light attracts, the dark’s unknown:
We fear what we don’t understand.
Warmth attracts just as love is sown,
And what is good, is kept near at hand.
Trust is hard when others lie,
Which happens way too often;
So thinking for oneself we try,
That blows of deceit will soften.
Truth is light, lies are dark;
Love and goodness are always shown.
And the reason there are so many stars?
They help us find our way to home!
