A Mother's Counsel: Spin Well With Virtue

1 min read

Dear spiders, listen to this interruption,

Take care when weaving your webs,

They are subject to corruption,

Beware! for our success ebbs.

Webs are home, where you live,

But they’re also how you dwell,

If deformed, then naturally,

You’ll often experience hell.

The webs we weave by nature,

Are done with original sin,

In spider nomenclature:

We fail once, and then again.

Through an intervention,

The Creator’s loving grace

Put an end to the death of webs

That newly might begin our race.

But that has not always been so.

And if we're not particularly good,

Then no matter how we try

Virtueless webs are tough as wood.

Do not imitate that thing called man,

Whose vice is practically certain.

Weave your webs of good deeds,

Screen thoughts of him like a curtain.

And so my darling fuzzies,

Listen to your mom.

Dwell in peace, enjoy tasty flies.

Be good, spin well, stay calm!
